Artist Crush: Luis Cornejo

As luck would have it, our first and last nights in Laguna Beach fell on the first Thursday of the month, when the charming little village filled with art galleries (LB started as an artist colony) puts on their Art Walk, which extends to galleries from downtown to north and south Laguna. We missed the first one, but after watching the sunset from a rooftop lounge while sipping happy hour mojitos and noshing on some small plates at K'ya Bistro last Thursday - almost in tears since it was our last night there and we were leaving 75 degrees and sunny for 11 and snowy - we walked down the PCH, passing about 20 fantastic art galleries on our way home and popped in to several of them for live music, free wine, cocktails and a lot of very nice people who wanted to talk (ie sell) art. Everything I liked was at least $9,000, not exactly in my price range right now..but if I had that much bling I'd definitely pick up one of these Mario Bros inspired pieces by Latin American artist Luis Cornejo at Salt Fine Art.
