Headin to Lolla.

We've decided to take Rosario's top down, plug in the iPod and cruise just 6 short hours through midwestern farmland to visit friends in Chicago this weekend. I can't deal with Chicago airports..have never had a hassle/delay free flight to or from there, so now we just drive. Our worst experience was the last time we were there and our flight home was cancelled. Instead of sleeping at the airport, we decided to rent a car and just drive home. Of course the only car available was a bright blue PT Cruiser (ew) and due to a torrential downpour and thunderstorm in Wisconsin we had to stay at a TraveLodge in Beloit, Wisconsin (double ew.) Luckily it doesn't appear that it will ever rain in this region again, so I think we are safe for tomorrow. Now we just have to leave early enough to avoid ridic Chicago traffic.

Our good friend Kaskade is spinning at the huge EDM tent on Saturday afternoon so we are mostly going to see him and Lolla founder Perry Farrell perform - they just collaborated on a track together, and Kaskade also just did a remix for Crystal Method. Can't wait to hear the new tracks, I'm sure they will be nothing short of amazing. I can only deal with crowded music fests for one day but hopefully we'll see some other bands and DJs Saturday, and then hit Smart Bar to see Kaskade's set later that night...if I can stay awake that long.

Also excited to drive the convertible through downtown Chicago looking up at the huge buildings - always fun to do, eat some yummy food and hang with our close friends who live in Lincoln Park. Photos and posts coming next week...
