Circle of Design - Saturday, April 23rd at Mill City Nights

CIRCLE OF DESIGN, FASHION WEEK’S MOST INNOVATIVE AND ENTERTAINING RUNWAY SHOW RETURNS FOR 2016
Hosted by Christopher Straub of "Project Runway"
Saturday, April 23rd at Mill City Nights

(Minneapolis, MN – April 6, 2016) Circle of Design’s unique storytelling approach to design will continue to re-invent the runway show with an infusion of fresh designers and compelling dance performances that will bring an exciting energy to the Minneapolis fashion scene this spring.  Circle of Design 2016 will be hosted at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis on April 23, 2016 at 7:00 pm and will inspire attendees with its unique take on the popular minimalistic approach to their everyday wardrobe.

This year models will hit the runway looking business chic and transition their look, representing other every day scenarios, as they progress to the end of the runway. With unique staging, props, and the ever-popular Circle of Design dancers, the show promises to be incredibly entertaining and exciting.  Following the show is the ever popular pop-up-shop that allows attendees to meet the designers and purchase hot off the runway looks!

Project Runway alumnus Christopher Straub returns as Circle of Design’s host. When asked about what excites Straub most about being a part of Circle of Design, he said “The integration of the fashion artistry and the dance performances really offer something special that the audience wouldn’t get from a typical runway show.” Straub added “This year has an amazing list of designers and I cannot wait to see what they’ve done for the event!”

The show’s Executive Producer and Director, Shelly Gensmer hosts an array of designers who range from established names to design students looking to make their mark. In a discussion between Gensmer and Circle of Design alumna, Gina Moorhead of House of Gina Marie regarding the idea of sharing the runway with students; Moorhead was thrilled about the student participation. So much so, that Moorhead wanted to take it a step further this year, combine resources with Gensmer and offer a sponsorship to one student. The standout applicant was Tabitha Andelin, a senior at the University of Minnesota. Andelin has been awarded a sponsorship that will include mentorship as she further develops her collection for the show, a branding consultation, and manufacturing of her collection in time to show and sell at Circle of Design 2016.

Attendees can expect to see the featured collections of House of Gina Marie by Gina Moorhead, Fin Sur Fin by Stacie Vanags, and Reviled by Shaima Eshmawy. Alongside Andelin, Circle of Design is thrilled to feature Victor Farmah, a Junior at the Art Institutes International of Minnesota and Shengjie Li, a Senior at the University of Minnesota.

Tickets for Circle of Design 2015 are $37 for General Admission and $65 for a VIP package and are available for purchase at www.circleofdesign.net.  The show is expected to sell out so early purchase is recommended. The evening will begin at 7:00 pm. Mill City Nights is located at 111 N 5th St, Minneapolis, MN 55403.

Circle of Design was promoted by Kare 11, My Talk Radio, The Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, Sun Times Local, City Pages and many more, and sponsors include Styles & Statements, Aesthetic Institute of Edina, In part by MN Hair Design and dpHUE.
