Nine Creative Guac Making Teams, Guest Judges, Margaritas, Coronas, Food from Baja Sol, The Chef Shack, Manny's Tortas, Pancho Villa, Barbette, Common Roots, Music by DJ David Drone and much more..
WHO:
Nine Guacamole making teams that are comprised of a maximum of 5 people. They will be given the basic ingredients for guacamole (making enough guacamole for 200 guacoff fans) – 40 avocados, 4 onions, 5 tomatoes, 1 bunch of cilantro, 2 limes and salt and pepper. Teams are allowed to bring 3 secret ingredients. We encourage teams to get creative with their ingredients, team name and presentation. Guest Judges Graham Petersburg, Daisy Nguyen, CEO at Blue Uptown, Mecca Bos-Williams, Food Columnist at Metro and a rep from Baja Sol will rate each team on the following categories: Most Authentic, Most Unique, Best Team Name and Audience Choice.
DJ David Drone will spin latin house music perfect for a Mexican Fiesta.
WHAT:
The 2nd Annual VimLab Guac Off is the ultimate Twin Cities Guac Off, where teams compete to see whose avocado sauce is tops-according to distinguished panel of judges as well as METRO readers. It's also a great summer fiesta where attendees can sample 9 batches of Guacamole and vote for their favorite, snack on Old Dutch chips and the Baja Sol salsa bar, sip on Margaritas and Coronas, nosh on Tomato Watermelon Gazpacho and Indian Spiced Donuts from the Chef Shack, Bleu cheese mousse and red grape on baguette from Barbette, Chicken, Steak and Veggie Tortas from Manny's Tortas, Flautas, Tamales, Rice and Beans from Pancho Villa and Assorted Cookies and Bars from Common Roots Cafe, all included in the $20 ticket price.
