Wine Country Weekend Ahead

Today, Jefe and I are celebrating 5 years of marriage. Crazy how time flies when you're having fun..seems like just yesterday that I finally got to wear my gorgeous ivory Alvina Valenta gown to marry Jeff, my best friend in the world and most incredible guy I've ever met. We had 85 of our closest friends and family members gathered together on a cliffside in Laguna Beach overlooking the the Pacific as we said our vows while the sun went down, ate a scrumptious meal and had a dance party under the stars, surrounded by flowers, candles and the people we love. Best day of my life by far. I really can't think of any better place to say "I Do."

Today also marks the halfway point for our baby-to-be, who has been in the oven for exactly 20 weeks. And we'll find out if its a boy or girl next Friday which can't come soon enough. A generous friend gave me baby's first gift the other night over a fab dinner at Wayzeta Eatery - a hand knitted hat with little bear ears that might just be the cutest thing ever. I can't wait to meet the little bean and proceed to dress them in all sorts of cuteness, including that hat.

It's a lot to celebrate, so we're heading up to Napa and Sonoma for a weekend of relaxation, bike rides through vineyards, amazing meals, outdoor swims and perhaps even a few sips of vino. I arrived in the Bay Area yesterday afternoon and walked around the "Gourmet Ghetto" of North Berkeley where Chez Panisse, Cheeseboard Collective and the original Peets are all on the same block. I sampled incredible Frogs Leap Farms pears and locally made cheeses at maybe the best Farmer's Market in the country, and drove up to the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens to get a spectacular view of the sunset over the bay, San Francisco and Golden Gate Bridge before coming back to our friend's gorg house in the hills of the East Bay for a BBQ. Still having technical difficulties with my Mac, but hopefully I'll be able to post pics next week. Til then, enjoy your weekend...I'll try to do the same.
