I've handled the PR and Marketing for all four ENVISION high fashion runway shows produced by Ignite Models Inc, and each one is bigger and better than the last. It's the closest thing MN has to a real NYC Fashion Week runway show, with 50 Ignite models, 20 stylists, 15 local designers and 1000+ glamorous Minneapolitans sipping cocktails in the swanky ballroom of the Graves 601. I'm going to put on a fancy dress and get myself down there tonight and I suggest you do the same.

MNFashion week officially kicks off Monday, but this massive, glamourous, and hip fashion and hair party should tide the beautiful people of the Twin Cities over for the weekend. Hosted at the swanky 601 Graves Hotel, the night begins with a silent auction from which all proceeds benefit the Young Survivors' Coalition. The nonprofit offers support and services for breast cancer sufferers and survivors. Next will be an interactive hair show with stylists from Rocco Altobelli giving tips and tricks on the latest trends for tresses, spraying and styling models' hair into aesthetically pleasing creations, with makeup by Mae Artistry. There will also be two runway shows featuring local designers including Amanda Christine, Arwyn Birch, and Carmichael Claith; clothing from boutiques like Cliché and Local Motion; and fashion lines such as Drama, Kjurek Couture, PFT Couture, and others. Every year, MNfashion Week seems to get more jam-packed with events spotlighting the fledgling local fashion industry. It kicks off early this weekend and continues through next Sunday. Here are some of this year's major to-dos:
Envision: Ignite Modeling's biannual event is the biggest local fashion showcase of the year (next to Voltage), showcasing fall lines by 11 designers including Renate Adjei, Kjurek Couture and Amanda Christine. (8 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Fri., $20-$35.)**************************

ENVISION, Fall 2009 is a hair and runway fall fashion showcase in two parts: the first runway show at 10PM and the second at 11PM. Models will be attired in fall collections from several Twin Cities-based designers and boutiques including Amanda Christine, Arwyn Birch, Carmichael Claith, Cliché, Drama, Emily Weich, Jenny Carle, Kjurek Couture, Local Motion, Peloria, PFT Couture, Renate Adjei, Rose White, Russell Bourrienne and V-State. Rocco Altobelli and L. Mae Artistry will provide hair and make up for the models. DJ Timmay and Shiek will provide a mix of house, rock and electro for the runway shows, with a live performance by electric violinist Dani-Vi, coming in all the way from Barcelona, Spain.
