Adventures in The OC: A Typical Day in Laguna Beach

He probably has sand in his mouth. He couldn't get enough.
 Just chillin
Baby G was very popular with the ladies of Mozambique
Art galleries abound in Laguna Beach
Koffee Klatch, my favorite cozy wi-fi enabled coffeehouse in Laguna..
actually probably my favorite anywhere
Love this boutique Blue Eyed Girl. I am one, and I shopped there

Love this champagne bar, French 75. Sitting outside by the fireplace or inside with the
champagne cork popping cherub mural drinking bubbly cocktails, it's the best.

 Gorgeous sunsets every single night

Our sweet little sublet, above the garage, in a fantastic neighborhood, 3 blocks from the beach

I want this. But I can't afford it.

Patio of The Lumberyard, a great place for lunch or happy hour
 Swingin'
Random piano a (most likely homeless) guy sometimes played

 Rooftop Lounge at The Hotel

In case you're curious, the photos above are an attempt to show what my life was like in Laguna Beach, CA during January. Most days, I would take Baby G for a walk around 11 am so he could have naptime in the stroller with a slight ocean breeze and I would head to a coffee shop to do some work. It was a mile down the PCH to downtown Laguna and we passed lots of adorbz little cafes, art galleries and boutiques along the way. We'd pop into a little bistro for a salad and iced tea to share once he was awake (mostly just the avocado for Baby G), then I'd push him in the swings down at main beach (sometimes spotting dolphins jumping and whales spouting close to shore, which was spectacular,) walk up the hill to Heisler park for amazing views, then head down to one of many beaches and coves to let G crawl around and eat some sand. Jefe, who had been working all day at our sublet, would join us down at the beach to swim (sans wetsuit, he's crazy like that as the Pacific ocean is freezing right now) then we'd head up to Mozambique, a very cool bar/restaurant near our sublet with an amazing happy hour every day from 4-6 pm. G became a regular there, all the waitresses knew him by name. They also have a fab brunch on Sundays with $6 bottomless mimos which I happily took part in twice during our stay. Then we'd either walk somewhere along the PCH for dinner or go home and cook and sit outside on our little patio with friends, family or by ourselves and just chill. Not too shabby, and a lifestyle I could get used to if we had $2 million for a house there. News flash: We don't, and we love our life and friends in Minneapolis too much to move. Plus there are not really any young people in Laguna..everyone is like 55+ which is kind of strange, and the only people I ever saw pushing babies around were guys. Also kind of strange. Plus none of our friends there ever really meet new, cool people like we do here because in general, OC people are weird. (Trust me, I am one.) But it's a great escape from January in Minnesnowda, so we've already reserved it again for next year :)
