    MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (October 25, 2010) - As the clock strikes midnight this New Year’s Eve, immerse yourself in a world of spellbinding spectacles and colorful couture during The Crystal Ball 2011: A Masked Affair at Epic Event Center. Arrive in your finest New Year's Eve attire and if you wish, disguise and beguile fellow revelers as you masquerade through the ball, into the wee hours of the night. Take in the sultry sights that surround you: opulent atmosphere, mystifying masks, aerialists soaring high above, fire performers, mannequins come to life, thumping dance beats, live entertainment and an Avant Garde Fashion Show and local design competition produced by Ignite Models. This will be unlike any New Year’s Event you’ve attended before, and will surely be an evening you will never forget.

Masks are highly encouraged but not required to attend The Crystal Ball 2011: A Masked Affair. This will be the sixth-annual Crystal Ball New Year's Eve event, and each year it’s the most talked about and well-attended 21+ NYE Event in Minnesota. This is the first year The Crystal Ball will take place at Epic Event Center, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, and it promises to be the most unique and exciting New Year's Eve bash in the Twin Cities.

Ignite Models will saunter down the runway wearing Colorful Couture from CostumeRentals - the costume shop for the Guthrie and Children's Theater -accompanied by Mystifying Masks provided by Twin Cities Magic and Costume Co. There will also be a local Designer Challenge where six finalists, selected based on their sketches, will compete to create the most unique and well-made modern masquerade ensemble. A cash prize will be given to the winner after the panel of illustrious celebrity judges choose their favorite modern masquerade design. This enchanting evening will feature several performance artists, aerialists, fire dancers and live mannequin installations, with many more surprises in store, including an impressive line-up of local DJ talent.

Doors for this intriguing affair will open at 8:00 for VIP guests, who will enjoy an array of tantalizing hors d’ oeuvres and delectable desserts from some of the Twin Cities' finest restaurants, including Crave, Lotus and Thom Pham's Wondrous Azian Kitchen. Masquerade guests can start their sultry evening at 9:00 pm and the Runway Show will begin promptly at 10:00 pm.
