Strange Way To Tour, But I Like This Song:

Benny Benassi today announced he's going to be riding his bike down the California coast during his tour of the Golden State next month. The gigs take him from San Francisco to San Diego, so that's several hundred miles worth of peddling.

According to a press release:
Besides catching Benassi swooping into their hometown on his custom-made, eco-friendly BBike made by iFixedGearModena, fans can also experience brand new songs from his upcoming fifth studio album SPACESHIP, due out later this year on Ultra Records, at each DJ appearance. Further details about the album will be revealed at a later date, but in the meantime he has made available the first single, also titled “Spaceship,” that features sultry vocals by Kelis and rhymes by apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas and producer Jean-Baptiste.

I waited on Kelis years ago when I was a waitress at Maya in San Francisco and have followed her career from the pulsating beats of "Milkshake" to "I'm Bossy" being played on "The OC" and am happy to see that she's crossed over into the divalicious world of dance music, as has Kelly Rowland. I think its safe to say that dance music is just about mainstream these days. There is all sorts of crossover happening with pop, hip-hop and dance, which is awesome. I'm hoping that some time soon, stupid people will stop calling all music with a beat "techno." The Black Eyed Peas are working with huge French DJ/dance music star David Guetta, who produced "I've Got A Feeling" - and worked on "Commander" with Kelly Rowland:

And Diddy's protogee was performing at Pacha in Ibiza (Kaskade plays there often and told me its the best club he's been to in the world - and he's seen them all, several times) the other night, but according to Page Six, the Euro crowd was much more interested in Erick Morillo's set than anything Diddy was associated with. Der. Europeans have good taste.
