Frenchie of the Day: Edith Piaf

In honor of Bastille Day, I think its appropriate to listen to Edith Piaf all day and watch the incredible movie La Vie En Rose. I Netflixed it a few months ago and was blown away by Marion Cotillard's Oscar winning performance as the tragic "Little Sparrow" who stood only 4'8. The teensie tiny lady surely knew how to sing - and party. She drank champagne all the time and indulged in every vice she could, often collapsing on stage during her performances, and tragically died at age 47 from a crippling morphine addiction. Yet her soaring voice lives on 50+ years after her death - there's really no one like her. Pop some bubbly, watch this flick and get to know her incredible songs.
