Spring Fashion & Sushi

It was another busy night on The V-List last night - for some reason I was invited to like 5 events and they were prettymuch all at the same time. I made it to 2 of them with a couple of girlfriends - a spring fashion event at Macy's and Sample Circuit at 7 Sushi. Both were great events - Macy's Spring Desires was co-hosted by Melissa Colgan, Style Editor of Mpls. St. Paul Magazine and Macy's Trend Correspondent Laura Schara, who both answered our questions about spring fashion. We saw some new spring trends on models in very tall heels and drank yummy berry mojitos and champagne. It's hard to think about spring fashion when its snowy, windy and about 5 degrees but with spring on the way and my trip to South Beach in just 2 weeks I may have to pick up a few new colorful dresses soon. Really wish I could afford the entire Marc Jacobs collection.

The Sample Circuit event at 7 Sushi was also fun - I had only been there for drinks on the roofdeck overlooking the downtown skyline but never for the food because I've heard its really overpriced and not that great. Also the song on their website is Kaskade's "Steppin' Out" but they don't give him credit which kind of annoys me. The sushi and steak I tried were fine - didn't blow me away but they kept the sushi coming until almost the end and I'm never one to turn down free sushi. I've been to many Sample Circuit events and they always get a great mix of people, plus it's a good way to try samples of what each restaurant has to offer. And they give out gift bags with lots of goodies at every event. The only thing I don't like is the small samples of wine - last night they were especially small pours, so we'd have to go back to the wine sampler about every 3 minutes to get some more. We all wanted to chat over a couple of full glasses of red wine, so went downstairs to the bar and did just that.
