My hilarious friend Graham created this comic, featured on Mpls.TV and it's awesome. Hot Dog & Whistle is the brain child of Minneapolis-based artist and freight broker Graham John Petersburg. Born from a charcoal drawing in life drawing class while he was bored drawing the naked ladies, he took to whistle sketches. “They have a roundy bit and a straight, 3D bit too. Drawing it felt like finding a lost treasure or even the remote,” Petersburg said about his creation. Though he was content he quickly realized how lonely whistle was and he gave him a friend, Hot Dog. The two immediately clicked and have been hanging out ever since. The point of this comic is to pursue the interesting intersections, awkward conversations and strange occurrences that happen in every friendship. More Hot Dog & Whistle here.
If you have a knack for putting awkward convos into thought bubbles as cleverly as Graham does, here is your big chance: Today, MPLS.TV is giving you the chance to make-your-own Hot Dog & Whistle. Provided is a blank that you can update with color, text or colored text or none of the above or all of the above. Print it off or Photoshop it, and submit it to hotdogandwhistle@gmail.com, post it up on the Hot Dog & Whistle Facebook page or just print it off (1000px wide version here). MPLS.TV will be posting the top versions on the site soon.
