WHO:
Host Kristen Aldridge of "ESPN's Road Trip," Ignite Models, DJs Timmay & Jevne, Judges for the Interactive Hair Show include Jahna Peloquin, Vita.mn Fashion Writer, Melissa Colgan, Mpls St. Paul Magazine Style Editor, Nino Altobelli of Rocco Altobelli and Laura Schara, Macy's Fashion Trend Correspondent.

WHAT:
Two high-energy and vibrant spring fashion shows featuring bold, colorful couture from chic Minneapolis boutiques and designers including: Amanda Christine, Bothdol fashion by Nyamal Both, Cliché, Drama, Jenny Carle, Joynoelle, Kjurek Couture, kru$h velvet, Local Motion, Peloria, PFT Couture, Re-evolution by Sarah Holm, Renate Adjei, Russell Bourrienne and V-State.

There will be an Interactive Hair show featuring 15 stylists from Rocco Altobelli, Moxie and other local salons. They will collaborate with the 15 Envision designers, in an environment where the stylists will actually work live in front of the audience. Each Envision designer will produce an iconic item that embodies their spring line, and they will be paired up with one of the stylists, whose responsibility will be to complete the look. They will draw inspiration from the designs, and be judged not only on their technical and creative skills, but also on their ability to truly embody the clothing through the hair.

WHY:
To Benefit The Young Survivor's Coalition - the only international, non-profit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the concerns and issues that are unique to young women and breast cancer. Through action, advocacy and awareness, the YSC seeks to educate the medical, research, breast cancer and legislative communities and to persuade them to address breast cancer in women 40 and under. This party at the Graves 601 Hotel will definitely get the sparkly disco ball of spring fashion rolling with an epic fusion of fashion, hair, and music. The fashionista shindig kicks off with live hairstyling by scissor-art experts, including hairstylists from Rocco Altobello, Moxie, and other local salons. After the hairspray has settled, there will be two runway shows featuring the hottest local designers and boutiques, including Cliché, kru$h velvet, RE-evolution, and many others. Judges will then determine which designer and hairstylist worked best together. New season, new fashion shows

The first big fashion show of the season, Envision, takes place at the Graves 601 on Saturday. The show features clothes by local boutiques, an interactive hair show and music by DJs Timmay and Jevne. Some proceeds benefit the breast cancer research fund Young Survival Coalition.

'Envision' spring fashion showcase

Although MNfashion Week isn't for another two weeks, spring fashion season is already upon us. It kicks off with the annual "Envision" show, which is part local-design fashion show, part live hair competition and part model showcase.
