One of my friends in San Francisco is the co-founder of a really cool travel website called Trazzler where anyone can recommend fabulous trips, anywhere in the world. The only requirement is that "Once you have a place or activity in mind, get cinematic and zoom in: on a particular moment, action, experience, observation, insight, sensation (sound, sight, taste, smell, feeling…). A narrow focus tends to work better—and is easier to write about—than a broad one. We want your writing to distill the essence of a travel experience."
Here's a good example and one I actually want to check out:
Living the Luxe Life at the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin
"The only resort in the Midwest with the AAA Five Diamond rating, the American Club in Kohler —a planned community created by the faucet manufacturer— goes beyond luxury. Guests bliss out on the new glass-enclosed rooftop deck with its whirlpool, fireplace, and lounge, while eight new treatment rooms with waterfalls and ten overnight spa immersion suites accommodate the pickiest spa mavens. Resort guests can stay in the historic main house or opt for the Carriage House, which has a more contemporary feel."
It's about a six hour drive from Minneapolis, not too far from Milwaukee which I've never been to. The hotel, spa and golf course look pretty amazing..El Jefe and I may need to road trip there in Rosario with the roof down this summer. They have one hotel in Koehler, Wisconsin - the other in St. Andrews, Scotland. Rando.
