Welcome To The Neighborhood: Butcher and the Boar
We were planning to have sushi in Edina with some friends Saturday night but they had to cancel, and somehow I managed to nab a last minute ressie at the recently opened Butcher and the Boar on Hennepin and 12th. I'm really glad we did. I love everything about this place, from the service to the food to the decor and especially the outdoor Prague style beer garden that feels very San Francisco. I am not a usual whiskey drinker but they have some excellent whiskey cocktails on the menu..I tried a whiskey lemonade and an old fashioned and both were delish. We dined on an incredible wedge salad with bleu cheese, pecans and a tangy, craveable tomato syrup dressing. Then came the decadent and insanely yummy lobster grilled cheese, followed by one sausage (our excellent waitress said we had to try one..) filled with cheese, served with broccoli and a light apple cider sauce and a side of cauliflower with lemon and butter. Prettymuch a perfect meal..and we only tried a few things on the menu. I'm sure we'll be back again soon to try some more. Very glad to have them within walking distance of our loft.
