Brass Bands & BBQ

Friday night, Jefe had to do some work and volunteered to hang at home with the Guster, so I met up with some friends who were going to see their friend's band: Mama Digdown's Brass Band at the Nomad World Pub. These guys are from Madison, and they are awesome. They heated up the dance floor with New Orleans style funk while we watched it start to rain/sleet/snow outside - a combo my friend refers to as a "Winter Mix." And included in the $7 cover was a delicious dinner provided by Six One Two 'Cue - some of the best BBQ around. I got to sample some of Six One Two's expertly smoked ribs at a summer solstice party our friends hosted in June and they were out of this world. They can bring their smoker around to all sorts of different events, so if you're looking for the best BBQ in town, call these guys. For the Nomad show, they provded pulled pork sandwiches and grits full of butter and cheese. So yummy, and a great way to spend a freezing early winter night.
