I highly doubt the 4,500 people aboard the Carnival Cruise to Mexico that had a fire on board causing all sorts of outages and problems will ever want to set sail again. They had no hot water, hot food or electricity for several days, the toilets didn't work for two days and apparently the smell was unbearable. And they waited in two-hour lines for delicious spam and pop tarts. This floating hell was towed by tugboats with a military escort back to San Diego and finally arrived this morning. Full story here.
Ew. I went on a Carnival cruise a few years ago out of New Orleans (one week before Katrina hit) down to Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Playa del Carmen and it was nice, but even under the best circumstances by the end of the week you're sick of the food since they reuse the same ingredients for every meal. I can't even imagine what a hellacious experience this was. At least they plied them with free booze the whole time. But what did the generous folks at Carnival give them to make up for their week of nightmare cruising come to life? Another cruise, of course.
