I'm A Cheap Date.
Since Baby Gus, (who was due last Friday) doesn't seem to be in any rush to join the world, Jefe and I decided to go on a classic all-American date last night - dinner + a movie. Perfect for a chilly, rainy spring evening. We decided to take advantage of the ridiculously cheap Tuesday night deal that Fusion (formerly known as Zeno) and the Lagoon Theater offer: $30 for 2 movie tickets, a bottle of wine, appetizer, salad and dessert. You have to go to Fusion to pay for the deal but can watch the movie first if you want, so we went and bought the tix, caught a 7:20 pm viewing of Greenberg starring Ben Stiller that was awesome - go see it - then went back to Fusion after the movie and sat in the sushi bar. They offer a choice between three of their cheapest apps like edamame - or a sushi roll, so we tried the Fusion roll, which was fantastic. We also had my favorite house salad with parm ranch, brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream and a bottle of zinfandel that Jeff polished off most of - it was all delish, and the right amount for late night noshing. And all for $30 - really about $40 when you factor in tax and tip..but its kind of insane since the movie tix alone are $20. I highly recommend cheap date Tuesdays at Fusion + Lagoon.
