NW Tour: The Wineries
We only had time to hit 3 wineries but they were all fantastic. Domaine Serene was first on myu list because my friends Gigi and Craig sat next to the owners of the winery at Alma last month, struck up a convo and learned they live 1/2 time in MN and 1/2 time in the Willamette Valley. Everyone there was very nice and quite helpful, and the wine was delightful, and it should be at $75 a bottle. We bought a bottle of the more in our price range Syrah and enjoyed it with dinner later in our trip. Then we drove across the street to Domaine Drouhin and took our delicious tastes of Pinot out on the veranda to take in the incredible vista view of the valley. That's a lot of Vs. Our last stop was Erath - not quite as good or expensive as the first two, but still a nice place to visit and sip some vino. Then it was off to a late lunch at the Dundee Bistro and back to Portland, just a 40 minute drive. All in all, a fabulous day in the Willamette Wine Country.
