Wild Cali

Omnifest is going on at the Science Museum in St. Paul until April 12th, so yesterday we met up with a friend who lives in St. Paul and also happens to be an ex-OC native to catch a showing of Adventures in Wild California on the IMAX screen, and I highly recommend it. From surfers riding ginormous waves at Mavericks in Half Moon Bay to the guys climbing majestic sequoia trees in Yosemite to snowboarders at Heavenly in Lake Tahoe to crazy sky surfers over San Diego, this is the ultimate movie to see in IMAX. You really get a sense of what its like to jump out of a plane and sky surf or work on the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sometimes it gets uncomfy and you have to remember you are safe in a movie seat, not thousands of feet in the air. Cali really is an amazing state and I feel lucky to have seen all of the gorgeous places in this movie many times. But we did all look at each other when the movie ended and say, "Wait, so why did we all decide to leave California and move to Minnesota??" Maybe we'll be back someday..more than likely.
